Knit
the Season:
A
Friday Night Knitting Club Novel
Authors:
Kate Jacobs
Rating:
5 Sheep (excellent)
While
reading this book I had pleasure of meeting Kate Jacobs
and then going to her book signing. It was interesting
to hear her perspective about the book and her writing of
it at a family reunion. To me it was a visit with
old friends. Kate Jacobs calls her book a "friendship
series" that you don't have to be a knitter to enjoy.
Knit the Season takes us back into the lives of Peri, Darwin,
Lucie, Catherine, KC, Anita and Dakota.
These
are all very real women, who themselves become a community
of friends through the knitting group at Walker and Daughter
who support each other. The book centers around a
very overwhelmed Dakota at the holiday season. Unsure
whether she should make a trip to her beloved Gran in Scotland,
or to grab at an internship to secure her career future,
she finally comes to a realization of what is really important.
The
New Year rings in with the long awaited wedding of Anita
and Marty as well as some surprises from wedding planner
Catherine. In this book we also hear from Georgia
in her own voice periodically. Not wanting to ruin
the story, lets just say the book comes full circle.
The
book ends with some delicious recipes and fun knitting patterns
as well. I'm hoping that all of you have just as good
a time visiting with my friends at Walker and Daughter.
Respectfully
submitted,
Dana
