What
is a knit-along? Knit-alongs are usually held 90 minutes
prior to our normal monthly meeting. A small group
of interested knitters meets for two or three months
to learn a technique or work on a project. Often,
the group may provide each other support via e-mail
or telephone.
Prior
knit-along subjects have been: socks, double-knitting,
modular knitting, Medrith Glover's Circumnavigated
Cardigan, Lucy
Neatby's Radiant Shawl , Elizabeth
Zimmermann's Baby Surprise Sweater, Sunburst
Slingbag by justonemorerow.com, Chris
Bylsma's Crayon Box Jacket Nalu
Mitts Round
Dishcloth February
Lady Sweater and Elizabeth Zimmermann's
Ribwarmer.

Now
that we know how to color our world, let's knit
with color. This baby sweater is worked in leftover
sock yarn, or can be toddler size by using worsted
weight yarn. You choose your own colors!
Of
course, if you'd rather make a colorful purse or
hat or afghan, that's okay too. We really just want
you to be inspired to stretch your knitting skills
and try new techniques.
If
you have ideas for future knit-alongs, contact our
Education VP, Robyn Schrager (rms on ravelry) at the
email address listed in your guild directory or via info@stlouisknittersguild.com
(refer to "Guild KAL" in your subject line)
or bring it up on our Ravelry group!
To
find out more about the Guild and its activities,
please browse our site by clicking on the menu button
on the left. This expands the options. If you have
any questions, please contact us at info@stlouisknittersguild.com
- be sure to put "guild, knitting or yarn"
in your subject line.
